The Lab

Experiments

Things we try here before we try them on clients. Every block below works: press it, drag it, break it.

Four
experiments

Loud on the outside. Underneath: fast pages, readable contrast and everything working on a phone.

EXP-01 · Poster maker

Make an Instagram poster

Type your event, pick a colour clash, download a 1080 × 1350 PNG. The kind of tool we build into event and brand sites.

Colours

Made in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

EXP-02 · Countdown

Launch countdown

For a drop, an opening night or a market. It ticks live and switches to "We're open" when the time comes.

EXP-03 · Contrast clash

Loud, but readable

Press for a random colour clash. It measures the contrast and tells you whether people can actually read it.

Sale starts nowUp to 40% off the summer range, this weekend only.
EXP-04 · Variable type

Turn it up

One font file, every weight from whisper to shout. Variable fonts let a heading change weight smoothly without loading extra files.

Loud

Made for

Brands that want to be noticed in a feed before they're read.

Events

Countdowns, line-ups, tickets or RSVPs, and a page that survives launch night.

Fashion

Lookbooks, drops and a shop that keeps up with the photos.

Music

Releases, gig dates and a press kit in one link.

Markets

Stall lists, maps and next month's dates.

Young brands

A first site with a strong voice, priced like a Launch site, from R7,500.

Rules, even in the Lab

  1. ReadableText meets the WCAG contrast minimum. Experiment 3 is how we check.
  2. FastNo heavy frameworks for a page that only needs to look loud. This page loads three fonts and a little script.
  3. Phone firstEvery block above works with a thumb.
  4. Calm when askedIf your phone is set to reduce motion, the ticker stops.
